I was a victim of a fraud a few years back...?

Someone emailed me and offered me a job in England to which I hurriedly applied. I was so eager to find a job abroad then. After a few days, an email was sent by the alleged "employer" asking me for some documents including the scanned copy of my passport, to which i also sent. Not until, I read in one of the testimonials here in yahoo answers about a job scam. We have the same story, and same requirements were asked. I was involved in a scam! Worst, I already sent my scanned copy of my passport. Please help me, where to ask and check whether my passport is being used in the crimes they are involve. I am afraid that I may not be able to travel abroad, or worst, I already committed a crime that i did not commit. Where do I go and ask? Please help. My husband and I are planning to travel abroad, and I might be in grave danger.
