So a good guy friend, who has a girlfriend, has been drunk texting me. Points!!?

So we've been friends for almost 3 years, and even though we always flirt/cuddle etc, we never crossed the line as to not mess up our friendship. Lately he's been drunk texting me a lot, saying that he likes me, and in the midst of things i told him i liked him too.. but nothing could ever really happen between us. Now, when he's sober, he's been acting a lot colder and less flirtatious/friendly... but when he's drunk he's always texting me and hinting on us hooking up, etc. I can't help but feel like i may have lost him as a friend.. am i over exaggerating?
